4th Annual
Horn Ensemble Summer Workshop at Daytona Beach

For one week each summer hornists of all ages can meet at the beach for the
4th Annual Horn Ensemble Summer Workshop at Daytona Beach. Come to sunny Florida August 1-7, 2010 for lessons, master classes, ensembles and performances focusing on ensemble playing, while not neglecting the need for individual attention.

As in past years David Johnson, founder of the American Horn Quartet, will be on hand. Joining David will be Paul Basler, composer and professor from the University of Florida, Dan Phillips, professor of horn from the University of Memphis and Douglas Peterson, Chair of the
School of Music, Entertainment and Art
at Daytona State College, for an intensive week
of horn playing and fun on the beach! As the
principal goal for the week is to become a better
ensemble player, three concerts are planned -
one at host Daytona State College and two others
in different parts of the lovely seaside town.

The workshop is open to all hornists; no audition
is required. Come with your own ensemble or join
one in Daytona. Ensembles will be formed based
on participant experience and ability to insure each
participant as much individual attention as possible.
Concerts will feature horn ensembles from duets to a massed choir. The all-inclusive price (housing, meals and instruction is only $830; prices are available for instruction only.
